
Grand Rapids Community College
The Industrial Sewing Certificate Program trains individuals for entry level jobs within the industrial sewing industry. Topics of instruction include safety, ergonomics, sewing machine operation, stitching and finishes, set-up, quality, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Students train with woven, knits, expanded vinyl, fine fabrics, and leather. Successful program enrollees prepare for careers in:

Participants should have a National Career Readiness Certificate of Bronze or higher for optimal success in this program. If you have not completed the National Career Readiness Certificate assessment, click here.
If you graduated from a Michigan high school within the last three years, you completed WorkKeys tests that make up the National Career Readiness Certificate.
